It's like if you tried to do an @include for a GIF image in your HTML - it wouldn't work either. The webpage either has to reference the non-text content externally via the <IMG> tag, or with something like the <OBJECT> or <APPLET> tags.

Off the top of my shinny head, I don't think PDF works with the HTML <OBJECT> tag, so if you want to show the PDF surrounded by other HTML content then you have to use <FRAME> or <IFRAME> and call the PDF separately.

One of the main reasons this breaks, is because the HTTP Header for the content is missing, so the browser doesn't understand what the binary content is and therefore won't load the appropriate plug-in.

I have a short article I wrote awhile ago that describes how you can grab a PDF file from a secure location (using the File Action), and controls it's output - if that's what you are trying to do.

I am setting up a web page, and decided it would be neat if I could just use includes (in a table) rather than frames. This was because I wanted to load two frames on one link, and wanted to avoid Javascript.

Well, everything works VERY nicely except that one of the files is a PDF file and it loads as postscript (see below), rather than PDF...
I tried adding an encoding=none, but that didn't fix the problem...
