If it wasn't a typo, and your server wasn't setup to properly use applications then perhaps the user variables weren't working right.... Someone who uses the applications feature of witango could answer this better, we don't use them here.

Thanks Alan, Yep, it looks like the configuration is the problem. I
setup a new instance of a Tango Server with their configuration files on
my machine and it didn't work. I compared everything and one thing that
seemed to make the difference was the value of the USERKEY configuration
variable. On My development box it was set to USERKEY=<@USERREFERENCE>
and theres was set to USERKEY=<@APPKEY<@USERREFERENCE>. When I took out
the <@APPKEY> part from theirs it seemed to work fine.

After reading the configuration variables I am still slightly confused
as to why this made the difference - any ideas why this would be so?

hmmm

since it works on your dev system but not production system, have you
compared your ini files to see if there's any difference?

Hey Mike,

Do you have cacheing on, could it be that your old taf that doesn't work
is still in the cache so your new code isnt running?

you might try putting some new text in there and seeing if it comes up
just in case.

I assume that if you take the purge out of there it works ok...

John,

Its 4.05.020 ... The strange thing is both Development box and Deployment Box are up to the same version 4.05.020

Cheers

Mike,

What specific version of Tango2000 are you running?

Hint: Use the <@version> tag to find out...

Hi,

I am having a problem assigning arrays. I cannot figure out the issue but I have simplified the problem down to reproduce the error and the following 4 lines suffice. I assign an array in local scope, then assign this to a user variable. I purge the local variable but if I re-assign back to a local variable the new local variable is empty.

Lines of code as follows :

<@ASSIGN NAME="myArray" VALUE="<@ARRAY ROWS='1' COLS='1' VALUE='12234'>" SCOPE="local"> <@ASSIGN NAME="myArrayUser" VALUE="<@VAR local$myArray>" SCOPE="user"> <@PURGE NAME="myArray" >>SCOPE="local"> <@ASSIGN NAME="myArrayLocal" SCOPE="local" VALUE="<@VAR

user$myArrayUser>"> New Local Array : <@VAR local$myArrayLocal>

The user$myArrayUser variable contains 1 row as expected but the local$myArrayLocal is empty and never gets assigned the value of user$myArrayUser. This works on my development server but when deployed on the same version of Tango Server it fails. If anyone had any ideas at all they would be much appreciated. Could it be some kind

of Tango Configuration issue?

Setup :
Windows 2000
Tango2000

Thanks
Mike.
