I dont know specifically about FMP but most database ive worked with run with autocommit default on and you use transactions to control blocks of statements as a group commit

I may be the only one doing this, but does anyone know if the record is
automatically committed when you insert it into FMP 8 via ODBC.

I am having an intermittent error sign up which looks like the insert
records fails without an error so I am thinking it does not get committed.

I have added a begin and end transaction to the action to force the commit but it would be nice to know if this was required ( which it can't be since it sometimes works without it) or just a good idea to prevent this "error".
