It has been many years and on a MacOS 9 system. But I remember setting a parameter that changed how connection was handled. May have been a parameter added directly to the ODBC preference file. I could be wrong and and it was the DSConfig.ini.

Check your DSConfig.ini for differences between the two servers. Look at single threaded vs multi and max number of connections. Also check DataSouceLife in the witango.ini.
