Steve,
The AU power outlet is type I. Just don't plug in a 110v only powered appliance down here.

You will need something like this to plug in a 110-250V auto sensing power supply.

WiFi is fine. There are hotspots everywhere and wireless internet from a majority of providers.

He should just need a physical plug adapter, not a converter of any sort ... every PC power supply I've ever seen can handle something like a 100-250v sweep and 50/60hz.

Hi,

I have a son going to Australia to play baseball and work for the next 4 months.

I know there are people on the list that live there and I was wondering what sort of power adapter he would need for his laptop. I am assuming the electricity may be different than the states.

Also will wireless work “down under”?

Thanks
