I've been using CxImage for a few projects: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/cximage.aspx
The library compiles under Win32/CE and Linux (with included makefile). The demo GUI would be another matter. Some functions, (i.e. drawing text,) is not supported under Linux. The license 'overview' from the webpage: " The class CxImage is free; as for the TIFF, JPEG, PNG and ZLIB libraries (zlib, libpng, etc.) : "If you use this source code in a product, acknowledgement is not required but would be appreciated." CxImage is open source and licensed under the zlib license . In a nutshell, this means that you can use the code however you wish, as long as you don't claim it as your own.
