That should eventually be WDateTime, but does not yet exist indeed.
Perhaps now is a good time to implement this class.

That is a good point, however it does not look like it is possible to
allow extending data type support in the model classes since we rely
on boost::any. The proper way to do this would be to use a type traits
system, but, it seems to me that you cannot combine this approach with
boost::any...
