I have no idea: in principle, there should be no problem with starting
WRun from within a QThread. You also suggest that indeed everything
works on X86: have you verified this also using valgrind ?

Could you debug the WApplication destructor remotely using gdbserver,
to pin-point the actual place where the crash occurs ?
