That is very bizarre!

You say that even with wthttp things do not work as expected? Since
wthttpd really is standalone I cannot imagine what other interference
there may be from your system? The examples that come with Wt do not
work using wthttpd as expected?

And Wt very much likes ubuntu, most of the development is done on
ubuntu systems. So there must be something else that we are missing?
If you ever go back, or if you still have the 2.99.5 installation
aside, can you send me the output of 'ldd' with one of the examples
linked against the wthttpd ?
