I'm on a similar situation.
Running my server on the front line with no apache or anything in front of
it.
So I have to run it as root to be able to listen on port 80.
I heard I have to use setuid() and fork down to another user level or
something.
I haven't investigated how to do it yet though.
If anyone knows .. please share the info :)
