So far this is what I have done to get back to where you are
# remove Boost 1.55
sudo apt-get purge libboost*1.55*
sudo apt-get install gcc-4.7 g++-4.7
sudo apt-get purge gcc-4.8 g++-4.8
# Remove Boost 1.55 ppa
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:boost-latest/ppa
sudo apt-get update -y && sudo apt-get upgrade -y &&  sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
-y && sudo apt-get check && sudo apt-get build-dep  && sudo dpkg --configure -a
&& sudo apt-get -f
sudo apt-get autoremove
# Install Boost 1.48
sudo apt-get install libboost1.48-all-dev
sudo update-alternatives --config gcc
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-4.6 40; sudo
update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-4.6 40
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-4.7 60; sudo
update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-4.7 60
sudo update-alternatives --config gcc

gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.7.3-2ubuntu1~12.04) 4.7.3

g++ --version
gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.7.3-2ubuntu1~12.04) 4.7.3

cat /usr/include/boost/version.hpp | grep "BOOST_LIB_VERSION"

1_48

cmake -G 'Unix Makefiles' -DWT_CPP_11_MODE=-std=c++11
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local -DCONNECTOR_FCGI=1 -DCONNECTOR_HTTP=1
-DBUILD_EXAMPLES=1 -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE="RelWithDebInfo"
-DEXAMPLES_CONNECTOR="wtfcgi" ../

Not using Apache so I removed:
-DCONNECTOR_FCGI=1
-DEXAMPLES_CONNECTOR="wtfcgi"

cmake -G 'Unix Makefiles' -DWT_CPP_11_MODE=-std=c++11
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local -DCONNECTOR_HTTP=1 -DBUILD_EXAMPLES=1
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE="RelWithDebInfo"
-DBOOST_SIGNALS_NO_DEPRECATION_WARNING=-Wcpp ../

It turns out to be a bug in gcc/g++ 1.48, it worked fine with Boost 1.48 and
1.55 on both machines.
