Summary: Inconsistent Platform/Platforms attributes of Package elem

Initial Comment:
[Build 3808] The platforms attribute allows entry of items such as
$(var.Platform) but produces a warning about being obsolete. The platform
attribute displays an error in VS intellisense stating that there are invalid
characters in the platform property. In addition, candle appears to work for
merge modules with Platform=$(var.Platform) but not with installers.

Alastair,
I just verified that candle does work with var.Platform even for
installers. This is something that may have been fixed between build 3808
and now... Just to make sure you did define var.Platform before sending it
through candle right?

Re: the intellisense part,
var.Platform will throw errors in Intellisense because this variable is
defined to be an enum and thus isn't expecting to be passed a string other
than that avaialble in the enum. That said this is legal and can be used,
its just that Intellisense won't be able to handle this, which is a
nuisance but unfortunately also happens to be something that we wouldn't be
able to fix right now.

I'm marking this as pending for now in case you have some addtional data
for me to look at. Do let us know in a week after which I'll assume this is
working for you and I'll close this out.
