Brian, I have 90% complete solution to this using the code from tallow -
I just need to finish testing and check with more variations (the code
in tallow was a bit buggy!). Are you interested in this code or do you
have working solution?

There could be a relatively simple way to handle this issue using what
is already in place. I am on the hook to try and fix a couple bugs, I
will look at this too for the 3.5 date.
