No, it wouldn't, it does not hide anything. What you want to have is
something different.
We also had superseding patches initially, but after reading the thread
below I moved away from that. I now install each patch as an update, and
will end up with one entry for each patch in the ARP upgrades section. That
way users can decide what they want to install and what not.
I also don't really like that fixpack1 pops up after you uninstalled
fixpack2. That comes always a bit unexpected and you'll only see that if
you really press 'refresh' instead of relying what the upgrade section in
ARP tells you directly after the fp2 uninstall.
