Here is the verbose log of the second install attempt. Notice there is a 38 second hang at the line : MSI (c) (44:78) [16:43:58:779]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Modifying CostingComplete property. Its current value is '0'. Its new value: '1'.


How many files are in your package? How many components? Costing takes time and takes more time if MSI has to examine installed files to determine whether they need to be overwritten, instead of just noticing that they don't exist.
