I checked CloseApps.cpp in WiX 3, it can not provide any help at all. The process that I want the user to terminate is different, it is the old version installed in a different folder. It is a COM server, and it must be terminated and unregistered, or the new version (will be installed to another folder) will never take effect.
Why WiX has no such simple (and vital) function built in ? Can anybody provide any help ? We need to detect if a specific process is running in the system or not. Could anyone please help us about how to detect if a process is running or not in the system from the wix installer?
