I'm trying to roll my builds from an older WiX install (3.0.3907.0) to a newer
build. (3.0.4207.0). Our builds use a checked in copy of WiX, rather than what
lives in c:\program files after a WiX install (we basically copy all the files
over and check them in).
My project has the following properties set to point to the appropriate
locations:
<WixToolPath>$(EXTPATH)\wix\3.0.4207.0</WixToolPath>
<WixTargetsPath>$(WixToolPath)\Wix.targets</WixTargetsPath>
<WixTasksPath>$(WixToolPath)\wixtasks.dll</WixTasksPath>
The first build of the project with Votive in VS2008 works fine. Any subsequent
build, however, results in the following:
------ Build started: Project: Sample, Configuration: Debug x86 ------
Unhandled Exception:The build was aborted because of an unexpected logger
failure.
Error: The build was aborted because of an unexpected logger failure.
========== Build: 0 succeeded or up-to-date, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========
And then VS crashes if I do anything. I see this in two separate projects, but
oddly not in projects that don't attempt to redirect to a different install
location, or a clean Votive project that I add the redirects to.
Anyone have ideas as to what might be causing this?
