I'm using the PermissionEx element. The [MY_PATH] folder already exists
before the install occurs. I'm also adding fileshare permissions to the same
folder. Source snippet is below:
<util:Group Id="UsersGroup" Name="Users"/>
<Directory Id="TARGETDIR" Name="SourceDir">
<Directory Id="ProgramFilesFolder">
<Directory Id="ManufacturerFolder" Name="MyFolder">
<Component Id="CreateServiceUser" Guid="MyGuid">
<CreateFolder />
<util:User Id="ServiceUser" CreateUser="yes"
LogonAsService="yes"
RemoveOnUninstall="yes"
Name="ServiceUser" Password="Password0!"
PasswordNeverExpires="yes"
UpdateIfExists="yes"
Domain="$(env.COMPUTERNAME)">
<util:GroupRef Id="UsersGroup"/>
</util:User>
</Component>
</Directory>
</Directory>
...
<Directory Id="MY_PATH" Name="[MY_PATH]">
<Component Id="CreatePermissions" Guid="{MyGuid}">
<CreateFolder>
<!--Have to use PermissionEx element because
MSI creates user after it
creates folders.-->
<util:PermissionEx User="ServiceUser"
GenericAll="yes"
Domain="$(env.COMPUTERNAME)"/>
</CreateFolder>
</Component>
<Component Id="CreateDataShare" Guid="{MyGuid}">
<CreateFolder />
<util:FileShare Id="DataShare" Name="DataShare">
<util:FileSharePermission User="ServiceUser"
GenericAll="yes"/>
</util:FileShare>
</Component>
...
</Directory>
</Directory>
...
