That's a known issue when opening an older .wixproj with a newer build of WiX.
See my blog for an explanation and steps to resolve the issue:

Subject: [WiX-users] Problem compiling in VS2005 (wix 3.0.4624)

Hi,

I recently upgraded to the most recently weekly build and my installer no
longer compiles in Visual Studio 2005. If I attempt a build it just says
"========== Build: 0 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 1 skipped
=========="

I've tried everything under the Build menu to try to force a clean build,
but nothing happens. I've looked all over for a setting I may have set
that's causing my project to be skipped, but I can't find anything.
However, if I try to click on the "Build" or "Tool Settings" in my project
settings I get an error message that says: "An error occurred trying to load
the page. Value does not fall within the expected range."

Any idea what's going on?

Colin
