http://blogs.newsgator.com/inbox/2007/06/why_wix.html if you are not doin anything in the UI sequence... that means u dont need to modify the default screen provided by the Visual Studio for setup projects then u need not to switch to the WiX, but yes if u have business needs that wants to run some custom actions during UI sequence as well, then i guess u need any setup creation tool available in market. moreover,in simple words, if u want something extra which you are not able to do thru VS, then u need to shift to some tool, and shifting to WiX will be useful, but to start with WiX, u one should have sound knowledge of *Windows Installer technology. * All the best with ur endeavours.
