If Restart Manager is offering to close Windows Explorer than there is some
file that Windows Explorer is using that you are attempting to overwrite.
Check your log for which files they are.

Look for "Info 1603" (and corresponding "Info 1903" if you don't allow
Explorer to close) messages in your full debug installation logs.

Subject: [WiX-users] RestartManager on Vista nagging about Windows Explorer

For some reason, on an upgrade or uninstall, the wizard is prompting to
close Windows Explorer. I read somewhere that using the C runtime merge
modules would cause this. But this issue cropped up about the time when we
stopped using those merge modules (and the MFC merge modules) and install
the individual files directly to our installation folder.

Is there any way around this?

John
