I´m new on WIX and I found it useful. I want to create the deployment files using WIX. I have an WPF app that uses a VistaDB database and some folders structure to save documents and images. The app has already been deployed using the VS 2008 assistant. The app exe , config, help and dll files were placed in the Program Files folder but data was placed on the User´s Data Folder. Right now there is a new release and I want to improve the installation process. It should be a good Idea to place the user to select not only the Program Files but the Data Structure. Is it possible with WIX? Another thing to do is to backup the current data (if it is an update) and restore it back after the installation. Should it be done?
