I'm not aware of any Microsoft forums specifically for install like the old PlatformSdkMsi news group. MSI questions get scattered around. There's a Windows Forms->ClickOnce and Setup/Deployment Projects that is explicitly VS setup projects (the ones being deprecated) that sometimes gets general MSI questions, and some show up in the Windows General and other forums. The forums are based around the tools (including this one!) rather than the underlying technology.

Out of interest, does anyone know what the forums are supposed to be for Windows Installer stuff? There used to be two newsgroups, but then Microsoft decided to convert everything to forums. Posts went round saying the newsgroups were going to be discontinued, and that details about a replacement forum would soon be made known. Then both newsgroups just went offline. I went to find the Windows Installer forum, but the link just went to a page saying the forum is down for maintenance. After a couple of months of this I deleted the bookmark. I can't find it now.
