I was not able to understand why, taking a look at the constraints in the code, they was all "m"... so, according to me it should not have been a problem for regs... but then I see that with-pic was the default and thought that a PI code could need using more registers to stay PI...? Tried --without-pic and it went all ok.
But I have still to write a complain: make --without-pic the default at least for x86 machines!
