Ok here is a new test procedure. It uses a new user (blank home dir),
the attached tar file, ssh and vncserver.

Start in your usual X environment, while reading this email I guess.
Open a terminal, and type...

$ su
<type root password>

# adduser test
<assuming you dont already have a test user>
<type password - just make it test, etc etc create the user>

# ssh t...@localhost
<type test password>

you are now the 'test' user

$ tar xf /tmp/pauls_test.tar.gz

$ vncserver
< type in a password, eg testtest >

NOW in another terminal, as your usual user, type
$ vncviewer localhost:1
<type password eg testtest >

you should now see test's desktop on your screen.
You should see an open terminal, and a minimised 'vncconfig' program.

Click the right arrow on clip to go to workspace 2.
Use the menu to start up a new terminal.
Minimise this terminal.

Click the left arrow on clip to go back to workspace 1

Now click the right arrow to go to workspace 2, you should see the
minimised icon.
Click it again to go to workspace 3, the icon appears on workspace 3 !
 it has followed you !

can anyone duplicate this?

cheers
Paul
