Hello! WMaker dose not implement _NET_WM_STATE_DEMANDS_ATTENTION or honor the Urgency flag.
>From Wmakers TODO file: Do ASAP: ======== ... - blink border of clients with UrgencyHint set between red and black ... >From freedesktop.org >(http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/1.3/ar01s05.html) _NET_WM_STATE_DEMANDS_ATTENTION indicates that some action in or with the window happened. For example, it may be set by the Window Manager if the window requested activation but the Window Manager refused it, or the application may set it if it finished some work. This state may be set by both the Client and the Window Manager. It should be unset by the Window Manager when it decides the window got the required attention (usually, that it got activated). In _other_ windowmanagers these "hints" tend to be quite obtrusive and obnoxious, but when using multiple desktops, they can be quite useful. So what i propose (if there are more people intressted in seeing these features )is that we brainstorm / make some mock-ups of how we would like to see these features be implemented in WMaker. Personally Im not quite sure that blinking the window borders would be the nicest solution to the problem. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
