Hello John, I follow wmaker-dev list since the beggining and I saw you were really excited to give a future for wmaker.
During all these months I noted you almost disapear from the list, probably you don't have more time/enthusiasm to maintain windowmaker project, i'm just supposing, but i don't like to suppose things, so I decided to write you this email. A lot of people sent patches during this time, and didn't have answer, windowmaker lost users day-by-day, i can see it between FreeBSD developers, 3 years ago windowmaker was used by most of them, today reality is other. I saw Carlos Mafra is doing a good job with users patches and giving them a feedback about it, and reading about his git repo and all new things we have there, i'm thinking to back to use wmaker, yes, i stop to use it too and went to awesome, but new things we have on carlos' git repo are more awesome than awesome window manager, and i have plans to back. I, and a lot of other people, would like to see this fixes and new features being released oficially. There are people in the list that released packages of his git version to archlinux and debian. It's a chance to have attention and ressurrect wmaker project. Don't you think it could be a great thing to call Carlos to help you to maintain the project? It's just a sugestion, a personal one, but I think a lot of other people of the list will agree. Thanks -- Renato Botelho -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
