for --a*s*-needed, yes (but then i knew about that). but alecey was 
talking about --a*dd*-needed (which, funnily, neither of us knew even 
existed, and later turned out to be the opposite what is needed here.

nevertheless, the referenced page is useful if one hasn't come by 
--as-needed before.
