as far as i can tell, this is correct.

ultimately, i think, i would be best to make the menu code be able to 
include proplist menus, and do away with the old-style menus as well 
as cpp and everything else in the neighbourhood, too.

this has been on my virtual to-do list for quite some time now, but 
with a very low priority, so anyone wanting to beat me, please do.
