Hi

As a mixer dockapp I've always used wmsmixer. It's works fine, but
only with OSS (which may be emulated by ALSA on Linux systems).
Recent version of Ubuntu does not provide OSS emulation built in
their kernel. Since I have to use Ubuntu occasionally (usually I'm on
Gentoo), there was impossible to use that mixer (well, it starts, but
volume doesn't follow the volume controls).

So I have tried some other dockapps available[1] and the only one
which works was the AlsaMixer.app, which looks odd IMO.

Eventually, I've decided to dust off my C skills and give a try to
implement the mixer using wmsmixer as a base. You can find the
resoult on bitbucket[2] or github[3]. Reviews and criticism are
welcome :)

Cheers.
