Just noticed:
The configuration on a 64-bit system which has
32-bit libraries additionally installed (e.g.,
slackware 14.1 with compat32 package) leads to
compilation with locale directory parameter set
to 32-bit instance, like in the following fragment:
gcc ... -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/lib/locale\" ...
On my system the compat32 is packaged from the
same distro version (32-bit) libs, so nothing
bad happens, but I still think this behaviour is
technically incorrect.
