Hi Michael,

I happen to be the current GWorkspace maintainer :)

    1. Does the Recycler startup properly in another window manager?

It starts fine now actually, it only hung once while launching from GDesktop.
GDesktop hung my entire desktop once, too, so I might avoid that until I pick
up a newer version.
I wonder indeed if this is a windowmaker or a GNUstep/GWorkspace issue.

If it happened just once, perhaps it was a once-in-a-time init issue.

What is "GDesktop"? do you refer to GWorkspace own desktop? in that case the Recycler app shouldn't be running, because the GWorkspace's Dock is enabled. It is either on or the other.

If you are running debian packages, you are probably running stone-age old stuff (0.8.8 ?). Please open a bug to get a newer version! In 2-3 years, GNUstep improved a lot in terms of bugs both in GWorkspace as in its core and Debian packags ridiculous stuff which makes us bad publicity.
Perhaps with another bug report they will finally update :)

However, this question is probably better asked in the GNUstep mailing
list. You can subscribe to the list here:

Indeed, if you like GNUstep stuff, you are welcome, but windowmaker is a separate project since many years. Come over, we're open.
