I don't know how Ubuntu organises package maintenance. Obviously they have not switched to the new version yet. You may still apt-get the debian packages from my site [1]. There's a good chance that they will work out of the box. Otherwise you can roll your own using `dpkg-buildpackage'. I nevertheless hope that Ubuntu switches to the newer version soon.
