I am posting with the hope I can find out some history about Window Maker. I am currently doing research into window managers and their history, with a focus on a time-line that also provides information on various window manager parentage or influence.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Window Maker was initially based on fvwm, and it was initially referred as WindowMaker, without the space. Does anyone know the date the name modification occurred? If a year and month could be located, that would be great. I would also be grateful if someone could tell me what the version of the first public release was, and what month and year that was released. Additionally, if anyone knows if Window Maker was influenced by any other window managers other than fvwm, I would be interested to hear about them. Thanks in advanced.
