Hello everybody,
I found the cause of the problem but it is not really solved for the moment.
Since my system upgrade, something has changed around xrandr. I
cannot see the dock because it is "painted"
outside of the physical screen.
Before the upgrade, xrandr output was (extract) :
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 900, maximum 8192 x 8192
After the upgrade, xrandr output is :
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2624 x 900, maximum 32767 x 32767
But xrandr gives me another "screen" named "VGA-1". xrandr says that
it is connected but this screen does not
exist!!
So I typed this command :
xrandr --output "VGA-1" --off
My screen blinked a bit but it seems that nothing has changed. VGA-1
is always here but the line "Screen 0"
has changed. It is now :
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 900, maximum 32767 x 32767
Current value is now "1600 x 900" which is good.
But the dock is always invisible. Si I tried to restart Window Maker
via the menu "Session".
Bingo!! The dock is visible at the right place!
But unfortunately, if I exit my Window Maker session and start it
again, xrandr comes back with wrong values
and the dock is still invisible.
Any idea?
Thanks.
Perhaps your video card driver is updated and reports a second screen.
Could you try a previous package version?

Hello,
I have just upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 13.10 and my Dock icon and
dock apps do not appear on the screen any more. In fact, in a "ps"
output I can see my dock apps processes but I cannot see them on my
screen.
Any idea?
Hi!
Check your ~/GNUstep/Defaults/WMState
In my case the wmdock is positioned on the right side (starting from the
top) and under the Dock section in the WMState file I have position set
like this:
Position = "-64,0";
Check the position of your wmdock.
BTW, what is the version of your Windowmaker?
