Hello Wmaker List,

maybe someone can help me with the following:
Did not find a solution...

I use two monitors. On one of them (new LED LCD)

Do you mean 2 monitors with different computers, or connected to 1 computer (Xinerama)?
I don't have experience with Xinerama, unfortunately.

i have a curious illumination over my fonts. But
only in some applications menus and the clip
preferences of wmaker. The second monitor dont
have this problem.

It could be the case, that your new LCD needs different settings for Fontconfig. The same fonts may look bad on other hardware, and might need a different hinting style, lcd filter etc. From the picture it looks like anti-aliasing is off (or no truetype font is used). Maybe there's a good howto/wiki on Fontconfig for your distribution. I doubt that it's possible to have per monitor Fontconfig settings for Xinerama though, but there's probably a setting that looks good on both monitors ("hintmedium" for instance).

I attached a picture with the result of this.

Sry!

I realized that also the jpg file is not showing
this illumination on the second montitor. So it
seems to be a Xorg Problem with my monitor.
Funny problem. When i reduce the sharpness of this
monitor this effect is also disappearing.

It's probably less visible, but still optimal Fontconfig settings might solve it.

But maybe someone can tell me how to change the size
of this font type. (menu in the jpg file)
I dont find a option inside of Defaults/WindowMaker.

Apart from the Fontconfig settings, it might be a good idea to check Window Maker and WPrefs settings first. The default "Sans" font is controlled by Fontconfig (it picks a default font in order of preference, if it's installed), but you can overrule this font by setting a specific font in WPrefs. The one used in the panels is the "System Font".

$ grep -r -i 'font' ~/GNUstep

Then this post was not complet for nothing :)

thx
jko

Cheers!
