Nikkei off about nine and a half percent, Hang Seng seven percent. The TOPIX ain't broadly based enough; it's off about eight percent. On the up side, I'm 30 and don't need my 401(k) anytime soon. On the down side, I will never be able to own a home or accumulate any kind of anything to pass to the children I hope to have someday.
