And a reminder that CTV is The Offical Network of the 2010 Winter Olympics ... ya know, the one that will show events from a city in the Pacific Time Zone live in that zone, unlike a certain American network that's losing money on the deal, but has enough to write big checks to a Mr. C. O'Brien ....

The Four Alarm Blaze at CJOH at Merivale Road and Clyde Avenue is now out. One employee says damage visible through a shattered widow indicates the TV newsroom was very seriously hit. It could be days before staff can return to the building, but planning is underway now to continue production from the 'A' television facilities in the CHUM Market Media building in the Byward Market. A stretch of Merivale Road has been blocked in front of the building. There is no vehicle access to Merivale between Clyde and Baseline Roads. Sixty four firefighters responded at about 4:20 this morning. A lone security guard in the building when the flames erupted escaped uninjured. The cause of the fire is still unknown. (Damage is now pegged at $2.5 million) -- Allen Kirshner (the alt.music.lyrics TV theme guy) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "World News Now Discussion List" group.
