Currently, Japan is enduring an increasing wave of Covid numbers. A few days ago I watched NHK World, which they market as an international news program, and it was filled with stories about the climbing numbers. And... they made Big Points over how these illnesses were dramatically higher in areas adjacent to the Occupation Troop Bases in Okinawa and some others. (The "Occupation Troop" phrase was silent, but pretty clear).
