John,

I'd say that the Ant task and WsdlCm classes should only be included if they will be generally useful to Woden consumers. I'll have to defer to Arthur on this.

Arthur - Does the Ant task have a general use for validating WSDL documents or is it strictly for testing the interchange format? And similarly, do you think the interchange format will be generally useful or is it only useful for comparing implementations for the interop event?

Subject
ValidateWSDL20 question for M5 build

Arthur/Lawrence - a build question...

I have built Woden for M5 and uploaded the files but I'm not sure what to
do about the Ant validator. In M4 the Ant zip file was not being extracted
by build.xml,
so org.apache.woden.ant.ValidateWSDL20 was in the M4 distribution but
didn't have any dependent jar files. It didn't have any mention in the
release notes either.

When building M5 I noticed Javadoc warnings for the ValidateWSDL20 or
WsdlCm classes because certain Ant classes were not found on the classpath.
I changed the getAntFile target to unzip Ant to the build/lib directory and
this resolved the warnings.  However, currently all 28 Ant jars are
included in the Woden distribution and its size has increased from 1.6 to
3.5 Mb.

What do we want to do about ValidateWSDL20 for M5?  Include it with its
dependent Ant jar files and update the release notes?  If so, do you know
which Ant jar files ValidateWSDL20 actually depends on (Arthur)?

Regards,
John Kaputin
