Hi, thanks for your interest. You're right, there hasn't been much activity recently. Please go ahead and pick any of the tasks outstanding that interest you. I'm happy to review/commit patches you attach to a JIRA - as long as the ASF assignment is checked :-)
To everyone, AFAIK none of the current JIRA issues are being worked on. Perhaps we should reset the 'assignee' field on them all to 'unassigned' to more acurately reflect the status and given an opening to newcomers to pick up tasks. WDYT?
