Noticed the discussion about exposing the commits, leading to list
'chatter':

- yes, I'm not following the deep internals, so it's a little confusing
- but agree also that multiple lists are not necessary at inception

So, the best thing for people like me are one or two well titled list
messages that give a provisional milestone and a link to the download
resource (either complete check out info or (later) a simple download page),

That means that 'we' can pick up the relevant parts of the conversation from
within the necessary but intermediate commits, because there's an autonomous
on-ramp in there.

Also, yes to answer something else, if there are pre-requisite packages or
java libraries etc., it's very useful to note that in installation notes
too, the broadens the audience to the more java-challenged.
