I don't know... but this sounds like a useful modification. Even if it may take some getting used to.

In versions before 2.1 if you click the Write tab in the dashboard/admin would take you by default to the Write Post panel. From anywhere. In 2.1 if coming from Manage > Pages by clicking the Write tab it takes you to the Write Page. In a way it is logical, I have to admit, it's just unexpected after the experience with the previous versions.
