I also get the same error. I'm using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.12 and it doesn't
matter whether I have one or more than one tabs open.

I'm not sure if this has been covered, but when I go to Manage Media,
there
is no way to upload items into the library. It seems counterintuitive to
be
able to manage your media without *adding* to it. Then I spend a good 5
hours trying to remember where I can upload my media. It's gotten to the
point, where it's easier to ftp images than try to figure out where to
upload media. I go to write a post/page and I click on add media, I get an
HTTP
error that says "An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later".
I'm so not good with the php stuff, so I have no idea what that is. I do
know it's occurring on two computers and with plugins activated or not.
Also, I could have missed it, but didn't see any suggestions regarding the
post/page "Are you sure you want to navigate from this page?' issue, but
it
is really annoying. Ideally, when you go to Write, it won't default to
Post, but offer a dropdown option for the two.
I was getting the same error too in Firefox 2. The Swfupload demos
(http://demo.swfupload.org/) didn't work too. Then updated the flash
plugin to the latest version (9.0.1.15) and it works well now.
Perhaps the message "An error occurred in the upload. Please try again
later" can be changed to something like: "An error occurred in the
upload. Please update your browser's Flash plugin or try again later"
