I'm experiencing a problem with the AdSense widget I just installed yesterday.
After putting on RC2 I note that there is no "plug-ins area" anymore. So
first, how are we now supposed to upload and install new plug-ins or widgets?
There are many things that an experienced php/css/xml writer can do easily and
manually, but it should enter the design ideas that the easier a program is for
Joe Schmo to configure and set up, the more likely the program will be used.
So anyway here's the deal. I saved my style.css from RC1 after I made manual
alterations for resizing fonts and and adding color to my text area of the blog
(that's still another unanswered question) since I figured I'd lose all my
changes. I saved the css from RC2 just in case....anyway everything is as I
had it before except....the Adsense (or Ad_Max widget in this case) no longer
appears in my widget list, there is no plug-in area to verify that it exists,
yet I still have a blank box on my page. Now, the widget wasn't working anyway
(not receiving ads), just displaying a blank box. I also know that there are
issues with the widget, but why would the upgrade totally cause the widget to
disappear? I'll check further by installing the css file from 2 back in it and
making all the changes again. Any explanation of this would be greatly
appreciated. The backgrounds issue I leave for the next post. Thanks
