Yeah, figured that out once I looked over the code - looks like it will wonk out if it gets an unexpected error code or if the post-check fails.
 
I ended up changing the type of package to an execute="once" package and then versioning it. Once the change was propagated I removed the package from the profile list and the reference was removed from WPKG.xml on the next synch so all is good now.

It reruns the check after running uninstall command(s). I guess you
will have to modify that as well.
