Reading from event log is not a good idea.
wpkg.js writes to the event log only when started with /quiet flag.
Some users don't do it - they run with /debug flag, and redirect it to a remote
machine etc.
If we create such exceptions (viewing what's being installed only works if
logging to event log is enabled), we would surely get more support queries ("why
doesn't it work for me!").
