Tomasz, I have the same problem here with one of my customer's W2K SP4
stations. Even more, after installing wpkg client 1.2 rcX, in event log I get
the
Product: WPKG -- Installation completed successfully.
message, after that the above mentioned 1722 entry. The wpkg service cannot be
started, since it is deactivated and "marked for deletion". After reboot there
is no wpkg service any more ...
