Because visual poetry (and all concrete poetry is visual poetry, but not all visual poetry is concrete poetry) operates on the level of immediate apprehension it has a power to flip the switch of paradigm shift so fast it is, increasingly in this sound-bite/iconographic/high-speed short attention span quick-scan world, it is the kind of poetry that should be the most feared by any power attempting to control a population through media manipulation.
