Ed,

It appears that the machine you are connecting to isn't configured for sftp.  After the SSH authentication is complete, the application asks the SSH daemon to start the sftp subsystem to process the sftp commands over the SSH connection.  So, ask the administrator to configure the sshd daemon for sftp and you should be good to go.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Connecting to server via SSH

Hello,

I am new to this list, but not to WSFTP.  I am trying to connect to a server running freeBSD.  I am using the latest version of WSFTP. When connecting to the server, I get the following log message.  I cannot find anything on the web or in the knowledge base regarding the error “Failed to start sftp subsystem on channel 0760a2ce”.  Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try or what exactly is happening?
